Matthew's interest in professional poker is three-fold: playing, writing, and managing poker content websites. Matthew received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1989. He completed a master’s degree in Finance at Georgia State University in 1991 as well as a master’s degree in International Business from Thunderbird in 1996.Prior to embarking on a poker career, Matthew worked in various accounting, finance, and consulting positions.

Matthew started playing Internet poker professionally in 2001 and has logged thousands of hours online, playing at limits from $1-$2 up to $100-$200 and in countless online tournaments.In 2008, Matthew demonstrated his tournament prowess by winning a major online event with a $132K first place payout as he outlasted over 3,500 opponents. In late 2008, he outlasted 9,999 on his way to winning the Full Tilt Poker Holiday tournament.
Matthew cashed in the main event of the World Series of Poker three times between 2004 and 2007, including a 33rd place finish. He has a total of eleven cashes at the World Series of Poker, including one final table. He won the New Zealand Poker Championship in 2002. In 2007, he made back-to-back final tables at the 2007 Aussie Millions Championships.

Jon "Apestyles" Van Fleet started playing professionally in 2004 after graduating from college, and quickly moved up the ranks in the online poker world. He ranked in the top 20 in both 2006 and 2007 at www.InternetPokerRankings.com. He consistently ranks highly at www.PocketFives.com and is a two-time winner of their Triple Crown award.
Jon has made over $2 million playing in tournaments online, including over 350 final tables and 70 wins. His biggest online cash to date is $135K when he finished 2nd in a major Sunday tournament.

Eric is a coauthor of the Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time series. Volume I was released in 2008 and Volume II wasreleased later in 2009.
Eric "Rizen" Lynch is recognized as one of the top tournament players in the world in both live and Internet play. In his first two years at the World Series of Poker, he had seven cashes, including a 2nd and 3rd place finish. He finished 26th in the 2006 main event, winning $494,000, his biggest prize so far. His lifetime total for cash finishes in live tournaments is a little shy of $1 million.
Online, Eric has over 50 wins, made 300 final tables, and has won over $1.5 million. In 2007, he won one of the major Sunday tournaments, beating out thousands for a prize of $156K.
Eric writes a popular blog, Rizen Poker, and is a columnist for Bluff magazine.

Meet Ian Taylor
Ian is the primary author and brains behind the best-selling The Poker Mindset: Essential Attitudes for Poker Success, coauthored with Matthew Hilger. The Poker Mindset is the most popular poker book in the world to help players avoid poker tilt and control their emotions at the table. Ian “Piemaster” Taylor is a professional poker player and writer and a popular Member for the poker forums here at ITH. His articles have appeared in a number of websites and publications, mainly focusing on avoiding poker tilt, poker psychology, variance, and emotional control. You can find Ian posting on a regular basis in the ITH forums where he moderates the poker psychology forum.
Ian received a degree in economics from the University of Warwick in 1999, completing a thesis on risk tolerance and gambling. He worked in the IT sector for a number of years before embarking on a professional poker career.
Ian lives in Essex, England,with his long-term girlfriend, Rebecca and their pet cat. When not playing poker or writing, Ian enjoys football, soccer, and reading.
